 Educational Philosophy:

I believe, as a teacher, you should fill the basic needs of a student before a student is able to fully learn. Students will have a harder time learning when they are hungry, tired or scared. I will strive to fill these voids to the best of my abilities while I teach. I will make my classroom a safe haven for my students. I want them to know that they are safe and that their main focus is to learn.

I feel that students should be actively participating in every lesson. This varies from lesson to lesson, but it should be relatable to the majority of students and have differentiated instruction dependent on each student's learning level. Each student has a different way of learning and may be on a different level. This should be the first thing a teacher should find out about the students so that they are able to help each individual. As a teacher, I will strive to learn each student's way of learning and incorporate it into each lesson that is taught.

The need for flexibility is a necessity as a teacher. However, students need to have structure and routine in their daily lives, especially at school. I believe each day should have a similar routine so that the students have a sense of stability and know what is expected of them, as well as, what is coming next in their day so they are better suited to learn.  I will continue to strive for a structured and organized classroom to the best of my ability while being flexible to the realities of teaching.
